DALEKS IN MANHATTAN

Series Three, Episode Four

Reviewed by Tom

With the doctor and Martha throughout the who of this series so far meeting new enemies whether it be Florence Finnegan (with her straw), an evil host of witches a motorway overrun with giant crabs attempting to devour and living creature that enters the fast lane, it's nice to meet some old enemies.

And what an enemy they are! The Daleks are back in the form of the Cult of Skaro (Including the famous black Dalek that, in part, caused the death of the Doctor's beloved Rose Tyler), and this time they truly bring with them something that an audience of all ages have never seen from the time travelling hero.

The Doctor take Martha on a detour before he takes her home. When has Doctor Who ever been that simple? An evil plan is being plotted, and this time it involves one of the worlds famous land marks - the Empire state building (now know to be built by Daleks) is being made to fit into the Daleks new plan of survival. involving mutant pigs and glowing green brains, the audience in thrown straight into the middle of this all new take over from the Daleks.

This new plan includes something new for the Daleks - evolution (something that Daleks have always pushed away in favour of purity) that needs humans. By the end of the episode, the audience is left spell bound as we look upon the image of a Human-Dalek.
Who knows what may happen in the next episode? But one thing is for sure, THE DALEKS ARE BACK and their not leaving without a fight!

I personally think that this episode was fantastic and could only be improved by allowing us to see the next part of the brilliant tale! I'd rate it 8/10.
