It’s a small world isn’t it? The world seems to be getting smaller by the minute. Any who, the day leading up to Tabby was uneventful really, just college as usual. Went home when we finished at 2pm, spent time chilling, had dinner and soon it fast approached what was to be my first ever Tabby gig!!!

I left the house at about 5:15pm (sounds like a Who song that – lol), with my mum and dad, got in the car and travelled to Peterborough.

Arrived at the theatre – a place I’d never been to before, and arrived a little early to so sat around in the car for a while, before mum and me got to the theatre which must have been about 6:40pm or so.

I was a little nervous, thinking perhaps I was going to be the only male there but I needn’t have been as he seemed to attract all ages.

After spending a few seconds taking in the place (what? It’s sooo cool!), we both went to the toilet, which are cool too (as Gren knows – haha!)

My mum has M.E so needed to sit down somewhere, and there weren’t many seats around so my mum asked a lady if it was all right to sit down on the seat next to her, which of course it was. I leant up by the wall nearby, and the woman looks at me and says ‘Are you Simon H?’ and me a bit confuzzled said ‘Yeah’, and it turns out it was Lyn which was well cool.

So we chatted for a bit, and with Gren too before we went into take our seats (which was in row I for those interested).

Tabby and the Tsars came on stage about 7:45pm (IIRC), and truly rocked! Everyone was screaming and having fun hearing them perform ‘You Really Got Me’, ‘Satisfaction’, ‘Sailing’, ‘Won’t Let Go’, ‘Living On A Prayer’ amongst others.

Then it was the interval. I could see from where I was sitting a group of familiar looking faces down by Lyn and Gren so went down to see and I was right, it was the Tabby Faithfuls from TO, and apparently it was the whole lot, which was wicked! So I stood and chatted for the whole of interval, and got a group photo too.

Sorry if it didn’t seem as if I didn’t talk much, I reckon I was bit shy of meeting everyone. I don’t why as I’m very confident, if not over confident, but recently when I’ve been around a lot of girls, I seem to go quiet – hmmmm!

Soon enough, the second half of the show started, which rocked even more than the first half (and I thought there would be trouble beating that!)

Tabby sung Happy Birthday to a girl called Jess, and then performed songs including – Sweet Home Alabama, Another Brick In The Wall, Whiskey In The Jar, Play That Funky Music, Sweet Child O’Mine, a repeat of Living On A Prayer amongst many others.

During the show he made the audience guess some soap themes which was fun, and he talked a lot too and confirmed that his new single is coming in July, but unfortunately I didn’t catch the title of it.

I recorded 47 video clips (of which I’ll post soon when they’re converted). Was surprised he never did Number One or My Oh My.

Then, everyone made their way out to the foyer where there was to be a signing. The only downside was that there was a pushing and shoving. Even though I was nearly one of the first out, I ended up nearly at the back of the queue due to the pushing, but then I supposed that sort of thing is expected.

When I finally got to see Tabby after about an hour of waiting (was nearly 11pm by this time), I got him and the band to sign a copy of the ‘Number One’ single, and my mum took a photo of me with him. I then told Tabby about my fan site (Tabby @ The Sound Station) and gave him the address, and he said he’ll check it out and signed a card saying ‘Cheers Simon!’. Then Gren took a photo of both mum and me with Tabby.

I then chatted for a bit again with the Faithfuls, and then said my goodbyes as I had to leave. I got hugs from everyone just before I left. In the car on the way back, both mum and me couldn’t stop chatting about it, and have been mentioning it all day today.

As it was only the third time of seeing proper pop stars in concert (not tributes or old bands), I would have to say he was the best and he rocked the night away.

And, for those that wanna know, the other concerts I went to were Rachel Stevens at Northampton Balloon Festival, which was ok, but could have been better if she didn’t mime it. The X Factor Tour 2006, and now Tabby.

Here’s hoping The Tsars come to Northampton sometime soon.

Oh, and btw, 2006 seems to be The Year of The Concert for me as I’m seeing McFly next in September for my birthday – WOOHOO!!!

All that's left for me to say is ROCK ON! PEACE OUT!

Si.
