Hello!
As you'll have probably guessed by now my name is Simon Hoggarth.
I am 23 and based in Northampton, UK and love working in all types of media.
I would describe myself as a warm, friendly, bubbly, confident, caring and an interesting person with a warped and witty sense of humour.
I have been interested the media industry from a young age and when I was 13 years old I built my own personal website that still exists today. From there I have continued to develop my skills in creating clean, fresh, and eye-catching designs for various different clients.
After successfully completing my GCSE's which included a Website Designer Diploma, I attended Northampton College where I gained a BTEC in Media, and then graduated from The University of Northampton with a BA in Media Production in July 2010.
As well as website design, these courses also covered radio, photography and my other main passion - making films. In particular, I enjoy the editing aspect of the productions, and using my experience with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro, I aim to create suitable, engaging and interesting films on a wide range of subjects. Many of which you can see in the portfolio section of this website.
On the side, I also love writing and acting. The notepad beside my bed is crammed full of ideas of new stories to tell. Some of these I have turned into short films, some of them are sketches that have been performed (by myself and others) to an audience. Otherwise apart from that I love reading a good book (especially sci-fi), listening to music or watching one of my many DVD boxsets of TV shows or films.
I also like working with young people and often help at various different youth clubs or social events for children of all ages. Recently, I helped organise youth away weekends in 2010 and 2011 which involved young people from 7 different churches coming together to have fun. Thanks to the success of this, I'm currently looking at more ways to bring young people together for other events.
In Christmas 2011, I was given the opportunity to play the role Father Christmas in a local shopping centre, this was certainly a magical and very rewarding experience that I will never forget.
All of the above has been achieved because I have the skills, the confidence and determination to pull them off, and people have trusted in me to gain results.
